Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Launches “Companies House”

DOHA - His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Companies House Advisory Council, officially launched “Companies House”, according to the official website of the Ministry.
Companies House is responsible for registering and licensing companies operating in the State of Qatar’s economic zones, with the aim of unifying registration and licensing procedures across these zones.
Under its mandate, Companies House will register companies, license their business activities, and maintain the public registers of the Qatar Financial Centre, Qatar Free Zones Authority, Qatar Science & Technology Park, and Media City Qatar.
Companies House will also provide tax and immigration services to registered companies and verify their compliance with labor standards and data-protection requirements.
Commenting on the launch, His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Companies House Advisory Council, said:
“Bringing these functions together in one place will enable investors to establish their businesses in Qatar’s special economic zones, strengthening the competitiveness of the State of Qatar’s investment environment in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.”
The Companies House Advisory Council is chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry. Its members include Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar); Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Faisal Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Free Zones Authority; Mr. Mansoor Rashid Al-Khater, Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Financial Centre; Mr. Hamad Omar Al-Mannai, Chief Executive Officer of Media City Qatar; and Ms. Rama Chakaki, President of Qatar Science & Technology Park.
Mr. Nasser Al-Taweel has also been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Companies House.
