MUNICH - The European Patent Office (EPO) welcomed Data Protection Officers from international organizations to Munich for the first hybrid meeting of the Informal Network of Data Protection Officers of International Organizations (INDIGO). Launched by the EPO in 2024, INDIGO offers a trusted space to exchange on digitalization and the protection of personal data, according to EPO.

Over two days, participants explored key challenges in privacy, governance and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and its implications for accountability and fundamental rights.

By bringing experts together in an open and collaborative setting, the EPO is strengthening co-operation, promoting shared best practices and supporting high standards of data protection governance across the international public sector.
