LOS ANGELES - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is seeking pro bono (volunteer) professional service providers and mentors who would like to offer their expertise to support applicants as part of the Applicant Support Program (ASP) in the New Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLD) Program: Next Round. ICANN is looking for providers who can offer services in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish to support diverse applicants, according to the official website of ICANN.
The ASP makes applying for a gTLD more accessible to entities that are interested but unable to apply because of a lack of financial or other resources. It provides a range of financial and nonfinancial assistance to qualified, eligible entities – including access to volunteer professional services, training, and reductions in gTLD evaluation fees.
As a provider or mentor, offering services on a pro bono basis may allow you to establish relationships across the globe while expanding your visibility and influence within the multibillion-dollar Domain Name System (DNS) industry. At the same time, you would be helping to create opportunities for underserved communities that are making an impact in our world.
