The invitation was attributed to the close and strong relations Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh maintains with the Chinese President, the Government and the people of China, in addition to the numerous educational and investment partnerships between TAG.Global and China.

During the meeting, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that China will become the world’s economic giant (Master of World Economy) by 2020, something which requires that everyone should cope with rapid development in China.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador Mr. Weifang announced the provision of a new grant to Jordan to establish a new road in Balqa governorate instead of the so-called “Death Road” or Salt Al- ‘Ardah road which witnessed fatal traffic accidents that resulted in many deaths.

According to reports, this project that will cost around JD22 million is considered one of the most vital projects in the Balqa governorate since it connects the main cities of the governorate.

Furthermore, Weifang affirmed his support to Jordan’s Social Security Plan by providing JD3-million-worth of Chinese Rice that was distributed through Tkiyet Um Ali; considered the first organization of its kind in the Arab world geared towards eradicating hunger. He also highlighted what he described as the ‘participatory and strategic Jordanian-Chinese relations’.

It is worth mentioning that the Republic of China has previously offered support to Jordan through loans, grants and important investment projects to boost Jordanian economy, atop of these projects is the Oil Shale project with an investment value that exceeds $2 billion.
