Application Deadline Extended for ICANN and PTI Leadership Positions

LOS ANGELES – The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Nominating Committee (NomCom) announced that it has extended its application deadline for ICANN and PTI leadership positions. The new deadline is Friday, 22 March 2019 at 23:59 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

According to ICANN, the NomCom is accepting applications and recommendations for the following positions:

Three members of the ICANN Board of Directors.
One member of the PTI Board of Directors.
Three regional representatives to the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) – one from the Asia, Australia, and Pacific Islands region, one from the Latin America and Caribbean Islands region, one from the Africa region.
Two members of the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council.
One member of the Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) Council.

New Application Process and Deadline

There is a new online candidate portal that has replaced the previous platform. After creating an account, candidates will receive an automated email from either no-reply@email.zenginehq.com or no-reply@webportalapp.com.

For full consideration, the NomCom must receive applications by 22 March 2019, 23:59 UTC. There will be no grace period for candidates to complete their application forms on the new online candidate portal. Applications that remain incomplete at the end of this period will not be considered.

All applications are confidential. The successful candidates will be announced by September 2019 and will assume their positions after ICANN66 Annual General, which runs from 2-7 November 2019.

Meetings, Travel, Reimbursement, and Compensation

The open ICANN and PTI leadership positions require regular participation in teleconferences and may involve significant international travel, including to ICANN's three annual Public Meetings. The three Public Meetings directly following the start of the new positions are: ICANN66 in Montréal, Canada (2-7 November 2019), ICANN67 in Cancún, Mexico (7-12 March 2020), and ICANN68 in Kuala Lumpur (22-25 June 2020).

Reasonable and properly documented expenses incurred during the course of service will be reimbursed.
ICANN Board members have the option to receive compensation in accordance with the resolution passed by the Board on 30 July 2014, but it is not required.
