BAGHDAD – His Excellency Dr. Fuad Masum, President of the Republic of Iraq received in Baghdad HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh who was accompanied by HE Dr. Jawad Al Anani and twenty directors representing various activities at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org). Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan HE Ms. Safia Al-Souhail attended the meeting as well.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed the main objectives of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s three-day visit to Iraq.

President Masum stated that education in Iraq needs development and fresh perspectives while taking into consideration the significance of studying history with an emphasis on purpose-oriented programs capable of fighting terrorism and extremism towards an education appropriate for our future generations.

His Excellency underpinned the necessity to intellectually, ethically and scientifically requalify the Iraqi youth and build their capacities to revive the glory of Iraq, noting that the Iraqi government represented by all the ministries is ready to offer whatever is required to achieve this goal.

 

For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of building capacities of the public sector as well as providing Iraqi embassies with the required training on how to attract investment in addition to enhancing Iraqi expertise and competence.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his willingness to place Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization’s resources at the service of Iraq in every field, noting that in his capacity as Chairman of the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA) and the Arab Commission for Satellite Broadcasting,  he will devote all resources and capacities to introduce a code of ethics that aims at stopping hate speech, violence, and enhance credibility of media broadcasting.
