TAG-Org signs Executive Protocol with the Embassy of Italy to Jordan for the Promotion of Italian Culture and Language

AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and the Embassy of Italy to Jordan signed an executive protocol. The agreement, which sets a milestone on the path of constant and fruitful cooperation between the parties, was signed by the Italian Ambassador to Jordan, HE Mr. Giovanni Brauzzi and HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh. The agreement aims to play a strategic role in enhancing the business and cultural relations between the two countries and promote sustainable tourism.

The parties will work jointly to promote the Italian language and culture in Jordan, through an extensive program of initiatives and projects, which include  the development and promotion of the “Second phase” of the PETRA Project, recorded in Little Petra, and the new recording project AL AMAL recorded in the Roman amphitheater of Umm Qais, in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The cooperation aims to promote the development of Jordanian tourism in the particular market field of cultural tourism from Europe to Jordan.

The cooperation also includes the support of TAG-Org to the Italian Archeological Consortium by providing one staff member and a space in TAG facilities to be used collectively by the Italian Archeological Missions as Secretariat of the Consortium.

Moreover, the two parties will work on creating an application dedicated to Jordanian touristic sites and on the development of the TAG Radio Project; with programs dedicated to the Italian culture and music, interviews with Italian prominent figures among the cultural sector, Italian kitchen recipes and Italian football programs in Italian and Arabic in addition to a program focusing on the terms shared as common heritage in both Arabic and Italian language.

The agreement will be celebrated by a special concert on May 15th at 7.30 PM at Al Hussein Cultural Center, whereby the Italian conductor Francesco Attardi will join The Jordanian National Orchestra, to perform well-known pieces such as La Traviata (Giuseppe Verdi), Ludwig Van Beethoven Symphony n.5 in C minor and Gioacchino Rossini’s Overture from La Gazza Ladra and the rarely performed Serenata by Giovanni Sgambati.
