MONTEVIDEO – ICANN announced in a press release that the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Domain Name System (DNS) Marketplace Study is now available in Spanish and Portuguese. On March 13, 2017, ICANN published the final report, which was completed after receiving feedback through the Public Comments process.

Translating this important resource into the languages of the region will facilitate a wider distribution and a higher level of awareness about the domain name industry in the region. Commissioned in January 2016, the study investigates the current state of the Internet and domain name industry, explores best practices for the uptake of domain names and analyzes the ecosystem. It recommends new business potentials based on global benchmarks and proposes a way forward for the region.
