The Noun Project works with creatives around the world to build a visual language of symbols that anyone can use to communicate. Iconathons are collaborative design workshops led by the Noun Project to add civic-minded symbols to the public domain. The workshops let the public participate in the design process and further increase understanding of civic topics they engage with. Previous Iconathons have been hosted in partnership with organizations like The New York Times, MIT, American Red Cross, and Wikipedia, and have created public domain symbols for concepts like “human rights,” “food bank,” “car share,” and “sustainable energy.”
