KABUL - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property Afghanistan Office (AGIP Afghanistan) took part in the celebration of World IP Day organized by the Afghanistan Patent and Trademark Office (APTO).

During the event, AGIP Afghanistan was awarded a 'Certificate of Appreciation' for its support to the APTO.

AGIP Afghanistan Operations Manager Mr. Babu Nambarath received the certificate and said that this is a great honor.

"We are really honored to be part of this day which is popularly celebrated by more than 100 countries around the world to raise the awareness of IP and respect for the contribution of creative artists and innovators worldwide. We, at AGIP, believe that the theme of this year’s World Intellectual Property Day – Creativity – the next generation – is an excellent choice as it reflects what IP Day is all about."

He added: “We are really proud to be recognized for our significant role in supporting Intellectual Property community in Afghanistan under the guidance of our Chairman Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.”

World Intellectual Property Organization’s member states initiated World IP Day in 2000 to raise public awareness about the role of IP in daily life, and to celebrate the contribution made by innovators and creators to the development of societies across the globe. World IP Day is celebrated annually on April 26, the date on which the Convention establishing WIPO entered into force in 1970.
