WASHINGTON, DC - The Business Software Alliance applauded Sen. Orrin Hatch and his fellow members of the Senate Republican High-Tech Task Force for shining a light on the scourge of Intellectual Property (IP) theft in a Task Force panel discussion featuring presentations by BSA member company Adobe Systems and representatives of other industries directly affected by Internet piracy.

“I commend Senator Hatch and his Task Force colleagues for their determination to curb software piracy and other forms of intellectual property theft,” said BSA President and CEO Robert Holleyman. “Senator Hatch has been an unwavering champion for the rights and protections on which America’s creators and innovators depend. He understands better than anyone the corrosive effect that rampant piracy has on today’s economy.”
