ICANN's Request for Proposal: Public Relations Services

LOS ANGELES - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced in a press release that it has issued a request for proposal (RFP) to identify a public relations service provider to partner in the development and implementation of a unique awareness campaign.

The objective of the specific project is to build awareness of the importance of enabling Internet users to access the Internet in languages and scripts other than English or American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) character sets, and to support the ICANN community's efforts to encourage software developers and back-end providers to adopt Universal Acceptance standards. This effort is the beginning of what will be a multiyear approach in support of the next round of generic top-level domain (gTLD) applications, pending approval by the ICANN Board.

This will be a global awareness campaign with emphasis in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. To be considered, providers must have a global footprint, with a physical presence outside of the United States.

Indications of interest should be emailed to PR-Agency-RFP@icann.org. Proposals should be electronically submitted using ICANN's sourcing tool by 23:59 UTC on September 3, 2021. Access to this tool may be requested via the same email.
